Polyarylamide, Ixef®

Ixef polyarylamide (PA MXD6) uniquely combines two important properties – stiffness and surface smoothness – for a multitude of structural components.
Typical Ixef compounds contain 50-60% glass fibre reinforcement, delivering remarkable strength and rigidity. Yet the material’s very good flow properties make it easy to fill very thin sections, and can produce an ultra-smooth surface with no glass fibres – ideal for painting, metallization or producing a naturally reflective surface. The tensile strength and CLTE of Ixef resin are similar to many cast metals and alloys. This combines with low creep and low water absorption to make it an excellent candidate for metal replacement. These materials are available in an extensive variety of grades, including glass fibre and mineral-filled, advanced-filler reinforced, flame retardant, impact modified and coloured. The material has good, strength and stiffness, surface finish, flow characteristics, dimensional stability and has both slow and low moisture absorbtion.
Ixef polyarylamide can easily be processed by Injection Moulding, and ProPlastics can advise on all your specific applications.
